Job summary

Gourmet King BBQ Takeaway in Papakura, Auckland is hiring two full-time Chinese Cooks to join a progressive team. Ideal candidates have 2 years of relevant experience or level 4+ and must be able to work weekends, overtime, and late-night shifts.

The role involves preparing Chinese dishes to specification, maintaining recipes and food safety standards, and updating techniques for new menus while ensuring timely service and proper food storage.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience OR a level 4 or above relevant experience.
• Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Must be able to work on weekends and overtime.
• Must be flexible to work late-night shifts and manage two shifts in a day.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine dishes are prepared to the specifications.
• Ensuring all Chinese Cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are met.
• Ensuring temperatures, seasonings and flavors are to specification.
• Ensuring all foods are presented and served in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
• Ensuring the storage of foods and others meet statutory Health and Safety requirements.
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
• Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
• General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.
