Job summary

Unitec in Auckland invites applications for an Internal Opportunity as an International Success Team Leader. You will guide a 6–10 person team, focusing on the wellbeing, engagement and success of international learners, reporting to the International Student Support Manager.

The role is fixed-term from 30 November 2026 to 17 December 2027 and may involve a secondment or transition to a fixed-term appointment. Regular travel across MIT and Unitec campuses is a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience or readiness to step into formal leadership
• Ability to lead a small team and manage people, projects or initiatives
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder collaboration
• Good judgement and professional handling of complex situations
• Experience in improving processes and driving positive change
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in international education and supporting diverse learners
• Strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6–10 staff supporting international learners’ wellbeing, engagement and success
• Shape services, programmes and initiatives to improve learner outcomes
• Travel regularly across MIT and Unitec campuses to support operations and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate with MIT, Unitec and wider organisation to drive initiatives and compliance
• Provide leadership and development opportunities for staff and contribute to continuous improvement
