Job summary

Architectural Envelopes Limited is seeking a motivated Welder Engineer Fabricator to deliver high-end welded and manufactured projects from our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region. The role is permanent, full-time (30-40 hours per week) and requires experience welding and fabricating with steel, aluminium, and cladding materials.

You will work as part of a team to meet deadlines, interpret drawings, and maintain quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• A tertiary qualification in welding or engineering would be preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings.
• Work unsupervised, motivated and self-dependent.

Responsibilities

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings.
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials.
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification.
• An integral part of the larger team producing quality work and ensuring good workflow to meet deadlines.

About the Role:

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.

What you will be doing:

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification
• An integral part of the larger team producing quality work and ensuring good workflow to meet deadlines
