Cromwell Architectural Envelopes Limited is seeking a motivated Welder Engineer Fabricator to deliver high‑quality welding and metal fabrication in our Queenstown workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago.

The role offers 30–40 hours per week with competitive remuneration of $37-$39/hour, training where needed, and a supportive team environment with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in welding and engineering.
• Tertiary qualification in welding or engineering preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings.
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
• Work unsupervised, motivated and self-dependent.
• Review procedures, processes and documentation.
• Measure, cut and weld according to specifications, drawings and blueprints.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work space.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings.
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials.
• Experience in aluminium joinery fabrication, ideally with a relevant trade qualification.
• An integral part of the larger team producing quality work and ensuring good workflow to meet deadlines.

We are on the lookout for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Welder Engineer Fabricator to stamp their mark on a well-established roofing and cladding business.

Architectural Envelopes offers distinctive roofing, exterior cladding, and interior finishes. Our products are used in architectural homes, commercial buildings and iconic buildings, designed to last for over 100 years.

About the Role

We are offering a permanent full time position 30-40 hours per week to a Metal Welder/Engineer. You will be responsible for delivering high end architecturally designed welding and manufacturing projects in our sheetmetal workshop and on site in the Queenstown Lakes District, Otago region.

What you will be doing

• Welding & fabricating a variety of steel products using mild metal, aluminium and sheetmetal from drawings
• Handling, cutting, and assembling steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other roofing & cladding materials
