Job summary

EROAD is seeking an Intermediate Test Automation QA Engineer to own quality across its connected devices, from hardware to cloud services. You will test telematics hardware, firmware and software integrations, build automated tests, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.

You will work in Linux environments, test end-to-end workflows across devices and cloud platforms, and collaborate in an Agile team led by the Chapter Lead.

Qualifications

• Hands-on depth in embedded testing and modern automation practices.
• Strong background in embedded devices and hardware-software integration testing.
• Experience with serial communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, RS-232, RS-485, USB CDC, CAN).
• Linux/Ubuntu environments for device testing and troubleshooting.
• BDD-based test automation with Cucumber; JUnit and TestNG experience.
• CI/CD tooling like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Python and Bash scripting for test automation and tooling.
• Cloud familiarity with Azure and/or AWS for device solutions.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or testing tools is a plus.
• Ability to read hardware schematics or familiarity with observability tools like Datadog or Grafana (bonus).

Responsibilities

• Own quality across connected devices from hardware to cloud services.
• Test physical devices and firmware alongside their integrations.
• Build and maintain automated tests across component, integration, contract, performance and end-to-end levels.
• Create automation scripts to extend test tooling.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to run on every build.
• Work hands-on in Linux environments for device testing and troubleshooting.
• Validate end-to-end workflows across hardware, mobile apps and cloud services.
• Investigate and diagnose defects across the stack.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional agile team reporting to the Chapter Lead.
