Job summary

Aotea Electric Auckland Ltd is seeking a capable electrician for our growing interiors department in Auckland. You’ll take ownership of shop fit-outs, office fit-outs and small-to-medium projects, delivering high-quality installations and ensuring safety and professionalism on every job.

You’ll run jobs on site, coordinate with clients and other trades, mentor apprentices, manage materials, and oversee testing, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• NZ Electrical Registration with current Practising Licence.
• Experience in commercial interiors / fit-out work.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead small teams.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Committed to Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality electrical installations and finishing work.
• Run jobs on site and coordinate with clients and other trades.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working across shop fit-outs, office fit-outs and small-to-medium projects around Auckland, taking responsibility for both delivery and site coordination.

Key parts of the role include:

• Delivering high-quality electrical installations and finishing work to a high standard
• Running jobs on site and coordinating with clients and other trades
• Leading and supporting apprentices and junior staff
• Managing materials and site requirements
• Overseeing testing, commissioning, and project completion
• Keeping paperwork accurate and up to date (timesheets, variations, handover docs)
• Maintaining strong Health & Safety standards across all works

What we’re looking for

We’re after someone who is reliable, takes ownership, and communicates well – someone who works to a high standard and takes Health & Safety seriously.

You’ll ideally have:

• NZ Electrical Registration and current Practising Licence
• Experience in commercial interiors / fit-out work
• Strong understanding of construction environments
• Ability to work autonomously and lead small teams
• Good communication and client-facing skills
• A proactive approach and attention to detail
