Job summary

Aon in New Zealand seeks an experienced Technical Manager to lead our NZ technical capability and client outcomes. You will serve as the lead technical advisor, collaborating with brokers, insurers and clients to ensure robust, fit-for-purpose insurance solutions that meet market guidelines.

You will influence product development, elevate technical standards and drive governance, audits and training while guiding teams through complex coverage interpretations and risk scenarios across NZ clients.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with insurance policy wording and coverage advisory.
• Deep understanding of risk transfer and insurance programme design.
• Proven ability to interpret complex policy language and provide clear guidance.
• Experience working with brokers, insurers and complex corporate clients.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Leadership experience with coaching and uplifting teams.

Responsibilities

• Technical development of policy wordings, endorsements and custom solutions for clients.
• Ensure consistency, quality and alignment to evolving market standards.
• Provide trusted advice to client-facing teams on complex coverage interpretation.
• Guide on client risk, claims scenarios and programme structure.
• Drive quality, governance and translate technical detail into practical advice.
• Conduct technical audits to ensure adequacy of cover and compliance.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments to keep Aon ahead.
• Deliver technical training and uplift capability across the business.
• Act as a subject matter expert across products and risk solutions.
• Collaborate with broking, leadership, insurers and external advisers.
• Contribute to central initiatives and continuous improvement.
