AFFCO in Rangiuru seeks an Electrical Apprentice to join our Trades team, supporting electrical maintenance of site machinery and equipment, including hands-on repairs, project design and project administration.

You will fault-find, perform preventative maintenance, work with PLCs and automation, assist with installations, and uphold strict Health & Safety standards. NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3) is required, with a willingness to learn PLC/HMI on various platforms.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team at AFFCORangiuru. This challenging role provides support to our Trades team in theelectrical maintenance of site machinery and equipment, which also includeshands-on repairs, project design and project administration.

What you'll be doing:

• FaultFinding & Repair:Rapidly diagnosing and repairing faults onprocessing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigerationsystems.
• PreventativeMaintenance:executing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdownsbefore they happen.
• PLC& Automation:Working with PLCs, VSDs, and automated controlsystems to optimize plant efficiency.
• Installations:Assistingwith the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• SafetyFirst:adhering strictly to Health & Safety protocols andelectrical standards.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following keyrequirements for the role:

• Aproactive approach that ensures the production departments experienceminimal down time due to maintenance requirements,
• Possessstrong time management skill in order to prioritize projects whenrequired,
• Aproactive approach to daily routine with strong organisational skills,
• Astrong commitment to upholding health and safety standards,
• Strongproblem-solving skills,
• Appropriatequalifications New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade(Level 3) .
• Knowledgeof Industrial communication protocols, such asEthernet/IP, ModbusRTU and TCP/IP.
• Awillingness to learn PLC / HMI / programming experience across variousplatforms (i.e. Allen Bradley, Schneider).
