Job summary

AFFCO in Rangiuru seeks an Electrical Apprentice to join our Trades team, supporting electrical maintenance of site machinery and equipment, including hands-on repairs, project design and project administration.

You will fault-find, perform preventative maintenance, work with PLCs and automation, assist with installations, and uphold strict Health & Safety standards. NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3) is required, with a willingness to learn PLC/HMI on various platforms.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3) is required.
• Proactive approach to minimize downtime in production.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Willingness to learn PLC/HMI programming across platforms (e.g. Allen Bradley, Schneider).

Responsibilities

• Fault finding & repair on processing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems.
• Preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• PLC & automation work to optimise plant efficiency.
• Installations and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Adhere to Health & Safety protocols and electrical standards.
