AFFCO Manawatu is seeking a Meat Process Worker for our Feilding plant. The role involves handling beef and lamb processing tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Applicants should have six months experience with knives or meat products; NZ apprenticeships in Export Meat Boning, Slaughter Operations, or related certificates are available. Precautions include PPE and safe handling practices.

The knife is the ‘single most critical tool to get right’. AFFCO Manawatu is gearing up for our busy season and putting together motivated teams at our modern processing plant in Feilding to help get NZ beef from our backyard to customers plates.

Qualifications

As a skilled Meat Process Worker, you will have had six months experience using knives or working with meat products. While not required we will give preference to any applicants that holds a New Zealand meat processing qualifications or a recognised equivalent.

We can even help you gain a New Zealand Apprenticeship in Export Meat Boning (Level 4), or New Zealand Apprenticeship in Slaughter Operations (Level 4) or New Zealand Certificate in Meat Processing and Meat Product Manufacturing (Level 4) with strands in Slaughter Floor Operations and Dressing Operations.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a lot of duties including:

• Safely using sharp knives, and other equipment
• Standing for up to 8 hours.
• Lift or move boxes at a minimum weight of 20kg.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.
