Job summary

Blind Low Vision NZ in Wellington Central, North Island seeks a part-time Sport and Leisure Advisor (30 hours per week) to connect clients across Wellington with inclusive, meaningful opportunities in their communities. You will work with clients, colleagues, volunteers, clubs, providers and community organisations to remove barriers, grow participation and support people to realise their potential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated relationship-building and stakeholder-management experience.
• Experience coordinating people, groups, activities and/or projects.
• Knowledge of, or established connections within, the regional sport and leisure sector.
• Experience in sport, recreation or leisure environments with people of different ages and stages.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand their interests, goals and ambitions and support needs.
• Connect clients with suitable sport, recreation and leisure opportunities.
• Build lasting relationships with various external agencies and stakeholders.
• Promote inclusive practice, accessibility and blind and low vision awareness.
• Support groups to become safe and connected within their communities.
• Share timely local opportunities and positive participation stories.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and relationship information.
