Job summary

Tīrau Primary School seeks an experienced Learning Support Coordinator to join its inclusive team from early 2027. The role focuses on coordinating practical support for ākonga with diverse learning needs and fostering collaboration with teachers and whānau.

A current NZ teacher registration is required, with a commitment to equitable outcomes. The successful candidate will help identify needs, liaise with RTLB and other services, and maintain confidential records while supporting transitions

Qualifications

• Must hold NZ teacher registration and certification.
• Experience supporting neurodivergent learners and diverse needs.
• Strong organisational and advocacy skills for student needs.
• Understands inclusive education, assessment, and interventions.
• Relationship-based learning practitioner with coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate learning support plans for ākonga and monitor progress.
• Work with teachers and learning assistants to strengthen practice.
• Identify needs early and implement timely, evidence-informed interventions.
• Liaise with RTLB and Ministry of Education as required.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records with privacy compliance.
• Support families to understand processes and guide decisions.
• Coordinate transitions and support inclusive classroom practice.
