Job summary

Lincoln University’s Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki invites you to join the Inclusive Education team as a disability support coordinator. You will coordinate tailored support, assess needs, develop individual plans and remove barriers to learning.

Based at Lincoln Campus, this permanent role is 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours per week). You’ll collaborate with academic and professional staff to create accessible learning environments and advance inclusive practices.

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in education, disability support, inclusion, mental health or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities, chronic illness or injury, ideally within an education environment
  • Knowledge of disability support frameworks, inclusive practices and relevant legislation
  • Experience assessing needs and developing personalised support plans
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgement and confidence using technology and student management systems

Job description

Support students with disabilities, chronic illness or injury by coordinating tailored support, advocacy and inclusive learning solutions.

Based in our Inclusive Education team, this role is all about helping students with a disability, chronic illness or injury achieve success in their studies. You'll work directly with students to assess support needs, develop individual support plans, coordinate accommodations, and remove barriers to learning.

Working closely with academic and professional staff, you'll play a key role in creating an accessible and inclusive learning environment while contributing to the ongoing development of Inclusive Education services.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Coordinating tailored support and accommodations for students
  • Developing and implementing Individual Support Plans
  • Providing guidance, advocacy and problem-solving support
  • Collaborating with academic and professional staff to support student success
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and accessibility initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate records, reporting and student support systems

This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE).

The salary for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You will bring:
