Job summary

Lincoln University is seeking an Applications Team Leader within the Information Technology Services (ITS) team. You will lead the Applications team to ensure enterprise applications are secure, reliable, and fit for purpose across teaching, learning, research, and business operations.

You will engage with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, driving service delivery, continuous improvement, governance, and team capability development to deliver great outcomes for the university community.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading an applications team in a complex environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and escalation capabilities for enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach the Applications team to deliver reliable enterprise applications.
  • Provide senior support and escalation for enterprise applications.
  • Drive application lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and service partners.
  • Oversee governance, risk, security, and compliance activities.
  • Support upgrades and delivery of new capabilities.

Lead a team & oversee enterprise applications, driving reliability, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, & service excellence.

Join us as an Applications Team Leader based in our Information Technology Services (ITS) team. In this role, you'll lead the University's Applications team, ensuring our enterprise applications are secure, reliable, fit for purpose, and aligned with the needs of teaching, learning, research, and business operations.

Working closely with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, you'll provide leadership across application support, service delivery, continuous improvement, governance, and team capability development. You'll also play a key role in enhancing services, managing risks, and delivering great outcomes for our university community.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Leading and coaching a high-performing Applications team
  • Providing senior support and escalation for enterprise applications
  • Driving application lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and service partners
  • Managing application governance, risk, security, and compliance activities
  • Supporting upgrades, enhancements, and the successful delivery of new capabilities

This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE).
The salary for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 per annum, depending on experience.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Significant experience supporting and administering enterprise business applications within a complex environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including application, integration, and data-related issues
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical teams
  • Sound knowledge of application lifecycle management and IT service management practices
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, end users, vendors, and service providers
  • Relevant Information Technology qualification (or equivalent experience), with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence
