Job summary

IDEA Services supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and participate in their communities. You will provide compassionate support, help with daily tasks, and enable independence while building trusted relationships with clients and their families.

This role includes weekends and sleepovers as part of varied shifts. Applicants should bring resilience, a caring attitude, and the ability to engage with diverse whānau.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in support work or personal care preferred.
• Calm under pressure and able to support people with complex needs.
• Willingness to learn and build meaningful relationships.
• Full NZ driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Help people with intellectual disabilities achieve goals and independence.
• Assist with daily routines: toileting, showering, dressing, medication, meals.
• Support activities, goals, interests, and hobbies.
• Foster connections with whānau and community.
• Respond to emotional overwhelm and support wellbeing.
