Job summary

Meridian Energy Limited, New Zealand's largest renewable electricity producer, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to maintain and service hydro assets at Mid Waitaki Power Stations. You’ll respond to faults, undertake projects, and ensure safe, reliable operation of heavy rotating plant.

Role involves on-site work, potential rostered after-hours, and relocation support. Experience in hydro is a plus; competitive salary with benefits and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Trade or Advanced Trade Cert in Mechanical Trades is required.
• Experience in heavy rotating plant maintenance and fault finding.
• Understanding of maintenance management systems and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to faults and emergencies on hydro assets.
• Undertake maintenance projects as required.
• Repair, maintain and install heavy rotating plant equipment for hydro generation.
• Investigate and resolve faults; plan, execute and report jobs.
• Identify hazards and follow safety procedures; obtain access permits and operate remotely.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation in maintenance.
• Be flexible with work patterns as generation needs change.
• Ensure work is safe, accurate and timely.
