Job summary

Watercare Services Limited invites an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant team in Auckland. You will perform hands-on maintenance, diagnose issues, and service pumps to keep essential infrastructure running for the community.

You will work in a safety-first environment, focusing on reliability and lifecycle extension of plant equipment while contributing to Auckland's water and environment goals.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and a National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining continuously operating plant, ideally within large-scale liquid or solids processing environments.
• Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong commitment to health & safety and safe work practices.
• Hands-on experience servicing pumps.

Responsibilities

• Keep mechanical equipment operating reliably and keep the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant running smoothly.
• Respond to faults and breakdowns, diagnosing and fixing issues.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
• Service pumps and complete field-based mechanical maintenance work.
• Work in a safety-first industrial environment where wellbeing is a priority.
