Job summary

Bioeconomy Science Institute Maiangi Taiao in Rotorua, New Zealand, seeks a Network Engineer to support secure, reliable connection and performance of the Institute’s network infrastructure. You will collaborate with teams to keep systems running smoothly.

The role requires a tertiary IT or Networking qualification and relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, Microsoft, Azure, AWS) plus proven troubleshooting experience across LAN, WAN, wireless, firewalls and cloud.

Qualifications

A tertiary IT/Networking qualification or equivalent industry experience.
Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, Microsoft, Azure or AWS are desirable.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proven ability to troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues using a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

Support, maintain and troubleshoot the Institute's network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, NAC, wireless, firewalls, internet, remote access).
Implement infrastructure changes in line with designs, security standards and change management.
Monitor performance, availability and security; resolve issues and escalate when needed.
Contribute to broader infra support including Windows, Linux, cloud, virtualization and storage as required.
