Job summary

Scion in Rotorua, New Zealand, is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and enhance the Institute's network infrastructure. You will ensure secure, reliable connectivity, supporting LAN, WAN, wireless, firewalls and remote access while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a tertiary IT/CS/Networking qualification or equivalent, and relevant certifications are desirable. Strong communication and a methodical troubleshooting approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary IT/CS/Networking qualification or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, Microsoft, Azure, AWS desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and network issues using a structured and methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot BSI's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, NAC, wireless, firewalls, internet connectivity and remote access.
• Implement infrastructure changes in accordance with approved designs, security standards and change management processes.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security, resolving issues and escalating where appropriate.
• Contribute to broader infrastructure support, including Windows, Linux, cloud, virtualisation and storage technologies as required.
