Wellington City Council is seeking a Cloud and Infrastructure Specialist to bolster our modern, hybrid cloud environment. You will manage AWS and Azure workloads, on‑premise systems, and drive security, automation, and cost optimisation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a similar cloud/infrastructure role.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Ability to work in change-controlled enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure) and on‑premise infrastructure.
• Maintain secure, well-governed infrastructure aligned to cybersecurity frameworks and PCI DSS.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code practices and repositories.
• Support 24/7 on‑call roster and incident response.
• Deliver proactive infrastructure support including monitoring and SLA fulfilment.
• Lead automation and pipeline development to boost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement across cloud platforms and infrastructure services.
• Contribute to change management and production audit activities.
• Mentor ICT staff and share knowledge across teams.
