Job summary

Hamilton City Council's Digital Services division seeks an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join the agile team. You will work on security by design, supporting the cyber roadmap, handling incidents, risk management, and implementing security standards.

You will influence cyber strategy, manage systems administration, and collaborate across Cloud, Network, Application Platform, Service Desk, and other teams to lift the organisation's cybersecurity posture.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices and tools.
• Experience with cyber security defense across People, Process and Technology.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and vulnerability analyses.
• Understanding of cloud security and virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with security tools.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity or related field.
• Experience implementing and maintaining security controls.

Responsibilities

• Support the cyber roadmap with operational, tactical and strategic activities.
• Handle cybersecurity incidents and risk management.
• Influence the cyber strategy and implement security standards.
• Manage systems administration within the Cyber team.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Network, Application Platform, Service Desk and wider organisation.
