Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking an enthusiastic HR Coordinator on a 9-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave from mid November 2026 to mid August 2027. This is a great entry to mid-career HR role in a luxury hotel, offering exposure across recruitment, payroll administration and employee wellbeing.

The role involves supporting employee experience across the hotel, coordinating HR activities with hotel leaders, and providing first-line HR support.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, coordination, office support, hospitality or customer service.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Confidential, customer-focused approach with attention to detail.
• Payroll administration experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and support hiring managers.
• Prepare employment documentation, offers and contracts.
• Maintain employee records and HR data.
• Coordinate training and development activities.
• Provide first-line HR support to employees and managers.
• Assist with HR reporting and People & Culture initiatives.
• Support employee engagement and wellbeing activities.
• Assist with payroll preparation, processing and coordination.
