Job summary

Auckland City Mission in Auckland is seeking a dedicated housing support worker to help clients access and sustain housing. The role focuses on proactive engagement, barrier removal, and tenancy sustainment using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, be supported by mentoring and on-the-job development as part of our values-led Mission community, and contribute to meaningful change for people facing homelessness.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in social work or health science.
• Experience with clients who have trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty or homelessness.
• Full New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Ability to engage a range of clients and assist with assessments.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Mission values.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to access and retain housing and sustain tenancies.
• Develop consistent engagement with clients in a planned, coordinated way.
• Provide reviews based on the Street to Home framework to understand needs.
• Deliver outreach and case-management services for homelessness or housing instability.
• Create action plans that foster confidence, accountability and independence.
