Job summary

Summerset Whangarei is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to help keep residents' living spaces clean, comfortable and dignified. You will clean rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, handle laundry, and support infection control with care and attention.

This is a permanent role working four shifts per week, scheduled across a seven-day roster. You’ll be supported by a welcoming team and receive full training with opportunities across aged care, hospitality, wellness and more.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Pride in your work and attention to the small details.
• Physically fit and able to work on your feet.
• Genuine interest in aged care; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities.
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Labeling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items.
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures.
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs.

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Whangarei village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a permanent role working four shifts per week, scheduled across a seven-day roster from Monday to Sunday (Start and finish times to be negotiated).

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided)
