Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Whanganui seeks an inspirational Care Centre Manager to lead the village care team, including Nurses and Caregivers, ensuring exceptional care is delivered. Reporting to the Village Manager, you will manage daily operations, staffing, budgets and compliance while fostering a high-performing, empathetic team culture.

The role requires strong clinical leadership in a NZ aged care setting, with on-site responsibilities Monday to Friday 8am–5pm and occasional on-call

Job Description

We’re on the lookout for an inspirational and experienced Care Centre Manager to lead our Whanganui village care team. You’ll play a critical role in building a high-performing team of Nurses and Caregivers, and ensure we continue to deliver the exceptional care we’re known for.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm, with some occasional on-call responsibilities that include weekends and nights.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Village Manager, you’ll be responsible for the care centre’s daily operations and strategic leadership, including:

• Full accountability for staffing, budgeting, and compliance
• Leading and coaching your team with a strong focus on recruitment, development, and recognition
• Building meaningful relationships with residents, their families, and stakeholders – and being their trusted point of contact, especially in sensitive situations
• Supporting sound clinical decision-making and ensuring quality care at all times
• Managing audits, policy implementation, and working with NASC, Te Whatu Ora and other key external agencies
• Driving a strong, connected team culture across the village

Qualifications
