Job summary

Summerset Holdings in Richmond village seeks a friendly Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to help create a clean, comfortable home for residents. You will clean resident rooms and bathrooms, service communal areas, and manage resident laundry with care.

This casual, on-site role requires you to be physically fit, detail-focused, and able to build warm relationships with residents and their whānau. Full training is provided, and we value teamwork, care, and a positive attitude in aged care.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Care about small details and pride in your work.
• Physically fit and able to stand, move and lift during shifts.
• Genuine interest in aged care; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard.
• Launder, fold and return residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Label, mend and maintain residents' laundry items.
• Support infection control measures and safety procedures.
• Build friendly, respectful relationships with residents and their whānau.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Richmond village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary -full training provided)
