Job summary

Donaldson Mechanical in Tamahere, North Island, seeks an Engineer/Mechanic to join our workshop-based team. The role involves autonomous work on heavy forestry attachments, including assembly and installation of Duxson attachments, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality service.

You will diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment, install new attachments, and maintain thorough records while collaborating with customers and the internal team to ensure timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on heavy equipment – forestry, agriculture, construction, or similar.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Forestry machinery experience (e.g. harvesters, forwarders, skidders) is desirable.

Donaldson Mechanical – Tamahere, North Island

We're seeking a motivated Engineer / Mechanic to join our team. Your time would be based in our fully equipped workshop in Tamahere, Hamilton. This role includes new fit-ups of forestry attachments, including assembly and installation of our Duxson attachments. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, solving problems on the go, and being part of a supportive, safety-focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment
• Installations of new attachments ie felling heads, grapples, and harvesters
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and inspections
• Maintain detailed records and documentation

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies

About you

• Proven experience working on heavy equipment – forestry, agriculture, construction, or similar
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
