Job summary

Donaldson Mechanical in Tamahere, North Island, seeks an Engineer/Mechanic to join our workshop-based team. The role involves autonomous work on heavy forestry attachments, including assembly and installation of Duxson attachments, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality service.

You will diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment, install new attachments, and maintain thorough records while collaborating with customers and the internal team to ensure timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on heavy equipment – forestry, agriculture, construction, or similar.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Forestry machinery experience (e.g. harvesters, forwarders, skidders) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment.
• Installations of new attachments such as felling heads, grapples, and harvesters.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation.
• Communicate with customers and internal team to ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
