Job summary

Radius Care in Christchurch Central is seeking a Healthcare Assistant on a fixed-term basis for 3 months. You will provide exceptional care to residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, perform personal cares, support care plans, and work as part of a supportive team on a 30-hour week roster.

Full training is provided, and opportunities for career progression, NZQA qualifications, and a positive staff-to-resident ratio are offered.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent).
• People skills and empathy for residents and families.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking personal cares, encouraging resident independence.
• Completing delegated tasks promptly.
• Responding to resident requests with relevant information.

Location:RadiusSt Helenas, 392 Barbadoes St, Christchurch Central

Fixed Term: 3 months, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

Hours of work: 30 hours per week, over a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)

Pay rate: Subject to completed caregiving qualifications

Note: Radius Care cannot currently support work visas/visa changes for Fixed Term contracts. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights. Visa expiry date should fall outside the fixed term period.

About the role:

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include:

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes
