Job summary

Radius Care is a New Zealand owned health and aged care provider seeking a Healthcare Assistant on a fixed-term basis in Christchurch. You will support residents under a Registered Nurse, building relationships with residents and families while helping implement individual care plans.

Role is 30 hours per week on a rotating roster (weekends/public holidays). NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or 4) with 3 years experience preferred; strong communication and empathy required.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 (or equivalent) and 3 years of relevant experience; OR Level 4 (or equivalent).
• People skills and empathy for residents and families.
• Good written and verbal communication; flexibility to work rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking personal cares while promoting resident independence.
• Complete delegated tasks promptly.
• Respond to resident requests with relevant information.
• Maintain and update resident healthcare records.
• Assist with handover of residents at shift changes.

Location:

Radius St Helenas, 392 Barbadoes St, Christchurch Central

Fixed Term:

3 months, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

Hours of work:

30 hours per week, over a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)

Pay rate:

Subject to completed caregiving qualifications

Note: Radius Care cannot currently support work visas/visa changes for Fixed Term contracts. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights. Visa expiry date should fall outside the fixed term period.

About the role:

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include:

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes
