Job summary

Radius Care in Palmerston North is seeking a registered nurse to join our 30-hour-per-week, full-time roster. The role operates on a rotating schedule that may include weekends and public holidays, for an 11-month period from 2 November 2026 to 11 October 2027.

You will complete patient assessments and care plans, administer medicines, monitor residents’ conditions, educate families and collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC) preferred.
• Computer literacy with concise reporting skills.
• Empathy and effective communication with residents and families.
• Ability to work rostered shifts including weekends/public holidays.
• 1+ years of RN experience in NZ preferred; aged care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents.
• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines.
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency.
• Wound management.
• Reassure and educate residents’ families.

Location:RadiusPeppertree, 107 Roberts Line, Kelvin Grove, Palmerston North

Hours of work:Full time, 30 hours per week, over a rotating roster (which may include weekends and public holidays).

Duration: 11 months, from 2nd November 2026 to 11th October 2027, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:
