Job summary

Radius Matamata, part of Radius Care, is seeking a part-time Healthcare Assistant to provide exceptional care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will build meaningful relationships with residents and their families while contributing to individual care plans.

Full training is provided, with a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays. We offer career progression, NZQA qualifications support, and a supportive team environment with opportunities to transfer between Radius

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing is desirable.
• People skills and empathy for residents and families.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Undertake personal cares while encouraging residents to maintain independence.
• Promptly complete delegated tasks in a timely manner.
• Respond quickly to resident requests and provide helpful information.
• Maintain and update resident healthcare records.
• Assist with handover of residents at shift changes.

Location: Radius Matamata, 30 Elizabeth St, Matamata

Hours of work: Part-time, 20 hours per week, over a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for part-time HCAs. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

Pay rate: Subject to completed recognized caregiving qualifications

About the role

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes
