Job summary

Wise Group's Westella Homestead in rural New Zealand seeks a Casual Health Care Assistant to provide relief cover for a dementia care unit serving up to 26 residents. If you bring kindness, reliability and aroha for the elderly, we want to hear from you.

Role involves supporting a small, compassionate team with flexible, as-needed hours to cover planned and unplanned leave. A current driver’s licence and first aid certification are required, with NZCHW or equivalent qualification viewed

Qualifications

As a Casual Support Worker, you'll provide relief cover for permanent team members, supporting people living with dementia in a small, caring team. This is a rewarding opportunity to gain experience, grow your skills, and make a meaningful difference.

Hours are offered on an as-needed basis to cover planned and unplanned leave. Our service operates 24/7, so flexibility is essential.

• A current full Drivers Licence
• A current first aid certificate or are you willing to obtain one
• Able to be flexible and available for varying shifts
• We welcome applicants who hold, are working towards, or are willing to work towards the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent qualification.
