• Observe and respond to residents' needs, escalating concerns as needed.

We’re seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Elderslea Lodge in Upper Hutt, supporting residents to live with dignity, comfort, and connection every day.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering meaningful care and wants to be part of a supportive, values-driven team. This is a part-time role.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support residents to live with comfort, dignity, and independence, delivering care that is respectful, safe, and genuinely person-centred. You’ll focus on building trusting relationships and creating a calm, supportive environment where residents feel listened to, valued, and cared for. You will:

• Provide personal care in a way that maintains dignity, privacy, and comfort
• Support residents with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration
• Observe and respond to residents’ physical and emotional needs, escalating concerns appropriately
• Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families/whānau
• Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and independence
• Follow individual care plans and work closely with Registered Nurses to ensure consistent, high‑quality care
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, and your wider team
• Take responsibility for health, safety, and infection control practices to keep everyone safe

What you’ll bring:
