Job summary

NZ Post is seeking an experienced Head of Data to lead the next phase of our data journey. You will build on a strong platform, guide data engineering, governance, and AI enablement, and partner with senior leaders to drive value.

Reporting to the GM Data & Enterprise Architecture, you will shape enterprise data strategy, scale modern data capabilities, and nurture a high-performing team across Auckland or Wellington with hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading data, analytics or data platform teams in complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of modern data ecosystems including Snowflake, Power BI and cloud-based technologies.
• Experience delivering data transformation, platform modernisation or legacy simplification initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder leadership skills and the ability to influence at executive level.
• Commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, value delivery and platform optimisation.
• A track record of building, leading and developing high-performing teams.

• Lead the enterprise data strategy, platforms and operating model.
• Drive the adoption and responsible use of data and AI capabilities across the business.
• Overseeing information management, governance and compliance obligations.
• Optimising platform performance, value delivery and cost efficiency across the data estate.
