Job summary

Gallagher Animal Management is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Hamilton-based hardware team, guiding the development of next-generation eShepherd products. You will own hardware architecture, electronics, sensors, PCB design and field testing, collaborating with manufacturing and product teams.

You will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps, and drive DFMA and FMEA processes to deliver robust IoT hardware for farming environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product development experience.
• Engineering leadership across hardware/electronics/mechanical/mechatronics or IoT products.
• Strong technical judgement across design, testing, manufacture and reliability.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Customer-focused and commercially aware mindset.
• Passion for developing engineers and building great products.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware architecture and product design.
• Oversee electronics, sensors, ICs, PCB design and mechanical assemblies.
• Lab and field testing with IoT hardware prototypes.
• Functional and reliability testing and production readiness.
• DFMA, FMEA, design reviews and change management.
• Coach, mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team.
