Job summary

Gallagher Animal Management, through its eShepherd R&D team in Hamilton, is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to design and continually improve the hardware that powers virtual fencing for livestock.

You will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production readiness, collaborating with electronics, firmware, manufacturing and field teams in real farm conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
• Five+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in R&D or product development environments.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulded plastics design and material selection.

Responsibilities

• Design robust, cost-effective mechanical solutions for new and existing products.
• Develop manufacturable designs meeting customer, regulatory, reliability and commercial requirements.
• Lead or participate in design reviews, DFMEA and DFM activities.
• Support field services and customer teams with technical investigations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design quality across projects.
