Job summary

Hospoworld Resourcing is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef for a well-established hospitality business in Waipu, Northland. You will work closely with the Head Chef, lead busy services and help deliver a consistently great dining experience in a popular coastal venue.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in a busy restaurant, strong cooking skills, and the ability to lead the kitchen under pressure. Accommodation assistance may be available for the right candidate and rostered evenings, weekends,

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy restaurant, gastropub or quality casual dining environment.
• Solid all-round cooking skills with commitment to food quality.
• Ability to lead kitchen services and make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations.
• Lead busy services and keep the kitchen team organised and focused.
• Maintain quality and consistency across a varied menu.
• Assist with ordering, stock management, food costing and waste control.
• Train, mentor and support other kitchen team members.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Contribute ideas to improve food quality and operational efficiency.
