Job summary

Pulse Staffing Limited is seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specializing in Haematology to join a busy NHS laboratory in Cumbria. You will perform full blood counts, coagulation studies, and blood film morphology, ensuring accurate analysis and high quality results.

The role is full-time with core hours, immediate start, and NHS experience preferred. HCPC registration and a Biomedical Science degree are required, with exposure to automated transfusion platforms and LIMS helping to support

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Experience in Haematology within a clinical laboratory.
• Experience in Haematology and/or Blood Transfusion; automated transfusion experience (Ortho platforms, Sysmex analysers, Telepath LIMS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• NHS experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform full blood counts, coagulation studies and blood film morphology.
• Ensure accurate analysis and maintain quality control.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care.
