Job summary

New Zealand Blood and Organ Service in Dunedin seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform pre-transfusion, antenatal and diagnostic testing and to issue blood products for patient care. You will contribute to tissue processing and work as part of a dedicated team focused on quality and safety.

You must be registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and be prepared to participate in evenings, on-call and weekend rosters to support urgent clinical needs.

Qualifications

• Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with Medical Sciences Council of NZ.
• Experience in transfusion science or related discipline preferred.
• Willingness to participate in evenings, on-call and weekend rosters.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-transfusion, antenatal and diagnostic testing.
• Issue blood, blood products and tissue for clinical purposes.
• Contribute to processing of tissue components and maintain high quality standards.
