Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited is seeking a Band 5/6 Biomedical Scientist specializing in Haematology to join a busy laboratory in Cumbria. The locum role offers core hours, full shifts, 37.5 hours per week, and a competitive hourly rate of £20–£27.

The successful candidate will have HCPC registration, a biomedical science degree, NHS experience, and proven Haematology/Blood Transfusion knowledge, with familiarity of Sysmex analysers and Telepath LIMS preferred.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration required.
• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Experience in Haematology within a clinical laboratory.
• Experience with Sysmex, Ortho & Telepath (desired).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• NHS experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Experience in Haematology and/or Blood Transfusion.
• Automated Transfusion Experience (Ideally Ortho platform).
• Experience with Sysmex analysers.
• Experience with Telepath LIMS.
