Job summary

The Portage Resort is seeking a Guest Services Manager for a full-time, fixed-term assignment from late September 2026 to early May 2027. This live-in role includes accommodation, meals, and internet at a minimal cost, in a stunning Marlborough setting.

You will lead the front office and coordinate with other departments to deliver personalized guest experiences, reporting to the General Manager. NZ residency or valid work permit is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in hospitality.
• Supervisory or managerial experience within hospitality is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and think on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front office operations and guest services.
• Mentor and lead the guest services team; report to General Manager.

This is a full-time fixed-term position starting late September 2026 (flexible on date) until early May 2027 with an opportunity to move to another hotel within the group at the end of the season.The position is a live in position with accommodation, food, and internet provided at a minimal cost, the position is well suited to someone who enjoys the outdoors.

As our Guest Services Manager, you will be reporting directly to our General Manager. You will be a responsible leader and mentor, overseeing the front office and working closely with other departments.

They will also have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure. Well-developed organizational and time management skills are essential
