35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Permanent, Annual salary $60,216 pro rata to 35 hours ($28.95 per hour)
Nayland College is looking for a reliable and practical Groundsperson/Maintenance Worker to join our property team.
We offer you a permanent role within a supportive team environment with ongoing training and professional development.
This hands‑on role is responsible for maintaining the school grounds, outdoor areas and associated facilities in a clean, tidy, safe and well‑presented condition. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Business Manager to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of the school environment.
Key duties include:
mowing lawns and maintaining grassed areas
trimming hedges and assisting with gardens
clearing leaves and debris from paths, courtyards and outdoor areas
cleaning courts and hard surfaces
water blasting buildings, paths and concrete areas
setting up areas for school events
maintaining grounds equipment and machinery
collecting litter, rubbish and recycling
carrying out routine inspections and reporting hazards or maintenance issues
assisting with general property duties as required
To be successful, you will have:
experience in groundskeeping, maintenance or a similar practical role
ability to safely use mowing and grounds equipment
good time management and a strong work ethic
a proactive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
sound health and safety awareness
physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors year‑round
