Glass Vice Products are Thinkers, Makers & Doers when it comes to exterior design solutions. specializing in unique patented systems including aluminum, glass, Pedestal decks, Facade design & Ground screws. We are seeking a talented recent Graduate or Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic and hardworking team.
This is a fast pace pricing role with a lot of day to day variety.
With the main focus on pricing, you will be tasked with quoting various projects, ranging from commercial projects and high end residential to simple take offs for supply only.
In addition to pricing, you may also assist with basic admin work, warehouse activities, and an install or two which helps get to know the products and the systems better to make your job easier.
Key Responsibilities: Working alongside our Pricing Team & Project managers
Utilize smart glazier software to accurately estimate and quote a range of Glass Vice Products, including glass and aluminium balustrades, floating decks systems, facades, ground screws and more.
Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
Analyse project plans and specifications to determine material, labour, and equipment requirements.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Maintain a comprehensive database of cost data, supplier prices, and subcontractor quotations.
Evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or methods.
Provide timely and competitive quotations to support our sales team in securing projects.
Attend project meetings and assist in negotiation with clients and subcontractors where necessary.
Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to project managers.
Assist in the development and improvement of estimating processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Competent understanding of building elements and how materials/systems work.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field is a plus.
Proven track record of success in the construction or glazing industry is a bonus, but not a requirement. On-the-job training will be provided.
