Job summary

Ashburton Drummond Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Machinery Operator to join our family-owned team. This hands-on role offers variety throughout the season and would suit someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

The role involves loading, unloading, transporting product, general contracting and harvesting duties, and daily machinery checks.

Qualifications

• Previous agricultural contracting experience is an advantage.
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Full Class 1 driver's licence.
• W, T, R endorsement is an advantage.
• Self-motivated and reliable.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and upskill.

Job Description

Drummond Contracting is a family-owned business specialising in niche small baling and feed trade. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Machinery Operator to join our team.

About the Role: This is a hands-on role offering variety throughout the season. It would suit someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Tasks:

• Load, unload and transport product
• Carry out general contracting and harvesting duties
• Perform daily machinery checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance

Key Requirements:

• Previous agricultural contracting experience an advantage
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full Class 1 driver's licence
• W, T, R (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) endorsement an advantage
• Self-motivated and reliable
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and upskill
