Job summary

SouthRoads is seeking experienced operators to join our growing earthworks and quarry teams across Southland and Otago. You will operate loader, excavator, or ADT machinery on diverse sites, prioritising safety and efficiency to deliver quality results.

Ideal candidates hold a Class 2 licence with a safety-first mindset. We offer competitive pay, overtime opportunities, a strong work–life balance, and a modern, well-maintained fleet with supportive crews.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence minimum.
• WTR endorsement preferred (but not essential).
• Experience operating heavy machinery or transferable skills from a similar industry.
• Strong commitment to safety and responsible equipment operation.
• Initiative, reliability, and a willingness to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

Operators Wanted - Earthworks, Aggregate and ISA Operations

Thanks to significant growth across our earthworks and aggregates operations, SouthRoads is looking for experienced operators to fill multiple vacancies across our business.

We're seeking:

• Loader Operators
• Excavator Operators
• ADT Operators

Whether you're a seasoned operator or have transferable skills and a strong machinery background, we'd like to hear from you.
