Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Grader Operator for a busy civil construction project in West Auckland. You will be responsible for operating a self-propelled grader, delivering accurate earthworks while prioritising safety and teamwork.

Start date is immediate, pay is up to $35 per hour with weekly pay, and there is potential for ongoing work across varied civil projects; WTR endorsement is required to join the site crew.

Qualifications

• Current WTR endorsement.
• Proven grader operating experience in civil construction.
• Confidence completing accurate fine and rough grading.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operating a self-propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel and stone to required specifications.
• Completing fine and rough grading, including shaping and finishing shoulders and slopes.
• Placing and trimming earthworks and gravel, with opportunities to operate rollers, dozers and excavators as required.
• Coordinating machine movements with ground crews and responding safely to hand or audio signals.
• Identifying and avoiding hazards including services, other machinery and workers.
• Completing equipment checks, monitoring fuel levels and reporting machinery or vehicle issues promptly.
• Assisting with general site duties and other machinery operation as required to keep projects moving.

Grader Operator

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Grader Operator to join a busy civil construction project in West Auckland. If you’re confident operating a grader, have your WTR endorsement, and know how to deliver accurate earthworks while keeping safety front of mind, we want to hear from you.

Location: West Auckland, Auckland

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: Up to $35 per hour depending on experience – paid weekly

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operating a self-propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel and stone to required specifications
• Completing fine and rough grading, including shaping and finishing shoulders and slopes

• Reliable, practical and willing to assist with other site duties when required
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
