Job summary

Geotechnics Ltd is seeking a Laboratory & Field Technician for the Horowhenua Region. The role involves a mix of laboratory testing, field work and reporting, with travel to project sites and occasional early starts.

A BSc in Earth Science or related discipline is preferred, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. We offer on‑the‑job training, paid overtime when required, and a relocation allowance to help you get started.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Earth Science, Geology, Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Some work experience is ideal but not essential.
• Full New Zealand driver’s license (manual driving ability preferred).
• Ability to safely lift items weighing 20kg+.
• Good computer skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Construction materials testing in the laboratory and on site.
• Sampling and field testing.
• Data entry and preparing test reports.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and following quality procedures.
• Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers on a variety of projects.
