Job summary

Tōtara Health invites General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners to join our busy and dynamic practice in Hawke's Bay. We offer full‑time and part‑time roles with competitive remuneration and a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.

Established in 2003, we are a teaching practice committed to learning, collaboration, and delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to Māori, Pacific, and low‑income communities.

Qualifications

  • Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or Nursing Council of New Zealand (with Nurse Practitioner scope)
  • Be a team player who can work autonomously
  • Have practical experience in general practice (preferred)
  • Practise evidence-based medicine and preventative care
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Most importantly, be a compassionate and caring clinician with a commitment to improving equity for our community

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care in a busy and dynamic general practice.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Support teaching, learning, and peer collaboration within the practice.

You will:

  • Hold current registration with either the Medical Council of New Zealand or the Nursing Council of New Zealand (with Nurse Practitioner scope), or be actively working towards obtaining New Zealand registration.

  • Have practical experience in general practice (preferred).

  • Practise evidence-based medicine and preventative care.

  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

  • Most importantly, be a compassionate and caring clinician with a commitment to improving equity for our community of enrolled patients.
