Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of primary care across Aotearoa New Zealand and deliver innovation at scale.

About Health Accelerator:

Health Accelerator is a joint venture between Tū Ora Compass Health, ProCare, Pegasus Health and Pinnacle Midlands Health Network (Network4). Together, we support more than 350 general practices and 1.8 million enrolled patients across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our purpose is to identify, develop, procure and scale innovations that make primary care more efficient, connected and sustainable, while improving outcomes for patients and communities.

The Opportunity:

Health Accelerator is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to help shape the future of A.I. and digital innovation, procurement and transformation across New Zealand's largest primary care collaboration.

This is not a traditional General Manager role.

You will lead, coordinate and oversee Health Accelerator's innovation, digital transformation and procurement portfolio across the primary care entities. Acting as the key conduit between partner organisations, you will help ensure innovation happens collaboratively and that solutions are rapidly evaluated, adopted and scaled across the networks.

This is a permanent position offering flexibility between 0.5 and 1.0 FTE. The role can be based in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch with a mix of remote work. There is regular travel required across the four primary care regions (Auckland, Waikato, Wellington and Canterbury).

About you:

The successful candidate will not be managing a large operational team. Instead, they will work alongside the existing expertise, capability and resources within the Network4, bringing people together around shared challenges and opportunities. They will help identify promising ideas, coordinate innovation across the network, facilitate learning between organisations and ensure successful solutions are rapidly scaled for the benefit of practices nationwide.

  • Thrives in complexity and ambiguity.
  • Is a natural problem solver and systems thinker.
  • Can lead through influence rather than authority.
  • Brings significant experience in programme management, innovation, transformation, digital strategy or AI-enabled change.
  • Has strong commercial acumen and experience with procurement, partnerships or business development.
  • Has the commercial acumen to navigate procurement, partnerships and investment decisions.
  • Can balance innovation, risk and pace.
  • Builds trusted relationships and creates alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Is energised by turning great ideas into real-world outcomes.
  • Understands the power of collaboration and collective impact.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and delivering innovation or transformation at scale. They will be equally comfortable discussing strategy with CEOs and Boards as they are working alongside delivery teams and innovators.

Experience within primary care, general practice, primary care entities, digital health, health technology procurement or collaborative ventures across multiple organisations will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, we are seeking someone who can help create a nationally connected innovation ecosystem for primary care, ensuring successful ideas, technologies and approaches are shared, adopted and scaled faster than any organisation could achieve alone.

Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to influence primary care at a national level.
  • Flexible 0.5 to 1.0 FTE permanent arrangement.
  • Remote working with autonomy and flexibility.
  • Shape the future of innovation and digital transformation in primary care.

If you are excited by the opportunity to shape the future of primary care innovation in Aotearoa and work across four leading primary care provider networks to deliver meaningful change at scale, we would love to hear from you.
